O Understatement – Journal DAP é uma publicação periódica on-line, com revisão por pares. Foi criada em Janeiro de 2026 e é publicada pelas i2ADS Edições e pelo Doutoramento em Artes Plásticas da Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto.

Publication policy and procedures
The Journal Understatement is dedicated to the publication of work produced by students and recent graduates of the DAP. It accepts work in one of the following categories:
- Artigos/papers
- Escritos de artista/Artist’s Writings
- Ensaios Visuais/Visual essays
Accepted languages: Portuguese, English, Galician, Spanish
At least one of the authors must be a DAP student or have completed their PhD less than 6 months ago.
Given the comprehensive and open nature of our PhD programme, we accept all types of work, but we particularly encourage the submission of work related to ongoing PhD projects, most of which are based on the students' own artistic practice.
Understatement has an Editorial Board responsible for coordinating the publication and giving final approval to all published works. The advisory board is responsible for reviewing works to be published and inviting students to submit their work.
O Understatement tem um Conselho Editorial a quem cabe a coordenação editorial da publicação e a validação final de todos os trabalhos publicados. Ao conselho consultivo cabe a revisão dos trabalhos a publicar e o eventual convite a estudantes para a submissão.
Once submitted, all works must be approved by at least two members of these councils. One of these individuals will be designated as responsible for editing and monitoring the publication of the submitted work.

Text and images organised in a single PDF file. Any videos must be uploaded to streaming platforms such as Vimeo or YouTube.
